lately I've been working with ideas around 'traces of places'. I began by filling several sketch books with rubbings like these. I can't stop. The master plan is to translate them onto cloth. I am particularly excited about using them as cartoons for tapestry weaving.

me too! I'm so excited to warp up. first I'm doing a bunch testing with warp and weft sizes since I'm doing a bigger piece. I'll be doing a smaller piece too...the big one to do at school and the small one to keep at home. I think I'll be studying this idea until at least the end of the year.
